Why I love coaching:  "My passion for coaching the sport of volleyball came from my experience here at (NS)MVC.  I had some of the best coaches of my athletic career during my 4 years playing club, including former directors Kevin Gemignani, Rick Wagner and Mike Chartier.  I grew to appreciate the finer details of the game, but more importantly I learned to enjoy the whole experience of competing at a high level with teammates you have developed meaningful relationships with over time.  The memories made and lessons learned through the shared journey of a club season are invaluable.  Being able to reproduce that kind of experience for the next generation of players both as a director and as a coach is something I'm extremely grateful for."

Why I love coaching: I was introduced to the coaching world by MVC in 2010 by Club Director Mike Chartier and Coach Kyle Olmsted. Immediately I was drawn to helping the kids find their identity through sport and understand that they can overcome anything put in their way by hard work and dedication. The greatest joy I get in coaching is when a player or team conquers an obstacle they have been working to overcome. Being able to mentor them through the process of identifying what they want, to accomplishing that goal is special.

It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle - when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.” -Dan Montano

Why I love coachingI love providing athletes the best opportunity to learn and be successful in developing different volleyball orientated skill sets.  The process that goes into developing an all skill orientated volleyball player teaches athletes a variety of things: stress management, time management, physical conditioning, set/match management, and situational diagnostic abilities.  These are all skills that I take great pride in seeing athletes develop and mature.  The process is much more rewarding than the simple outcome both as a coach and as a player.  I hope through a variety of training that all of the athletes that I work with develop a passion for the game of volleyball that I feel has given me so many great opportunities.

Why I love coaching:  There is nothing like teaching players to be part of something bigger than themselves, and being a part of the light bulb of when an athlete suddenly gets it.  The game of volleyball can give you so much, it you have the courage to jump on board, and become a part of the  team.  I am grateful for what the game has given me, and hope to continue giving back to today’s up and coming players to help them become their very BEST.
